•A SAFE HOUSE FOR WOMEN ESCAPING THE BONDS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING•
"Vision is the art of seeing the invisible." - Jonathan Swift
What a month this has been! Full of planning, advancements and milestones.
We're excited that Jenny Ross has stepped in as our new Volunteer Coordinator. When people express interest in getting involved, Jenny will be the one to help them find the place where their passions and skills can best fit. Interested in volunteering? Please connect with Jenny!
We had two great meetings last week with medical professionals who have offered their help. It's such a huge piece of our vision that we're going to be establishing a medical oversight committee to help us build partnerships with hospitals and clinics, support trafficking-related medical training and navigate the medical issues involved in assessing potential residents and caring for them once they're in the house.
We're excited to have almost every space in the house sponsored! If this is something you (maybe in partnership with others) want to consider, please let us know. Our remaining needs are: a full sponsor for the overnight staff bedroom, an open space we'll use as a community area, the shed, and the supplies closet; and a partial sponsor for the medical room.
One of our big goals this year is to significantly build our base of grassroots donors - people who are giving $10, $50, $100/month. Would you consider hosting an event where we could share our vision and present various giving opportunities? One couple just hosted an event like this at their house last Sunday night. They provided snacks, Arwyn (Amirah's Director of Outreach) shared our vision for about 20 minutes, and then we fielded questions. Great conversations resulting in hearts that are more engaged with the vision, and probably some financial ripples as well. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you'd like to learn how you can partner with us in this way!
Teenagers! A great group from Boston Trinity Academy came up a couple weekends ago and totally organized the clothes that have been donated and our furniture storage area. Two other high schools will be having fundraisers for us in the month of March. Teens are seriously getting engaged in the movement - exciting, since many of them will be among the leaders in the next generation! Please email us if you're interested in learning how to get involved!
Lastly, we invite you to partner with us financially. Checks can be sent to:
